The Omen 666 DVD Review

Good remake - still scary, but the original gave me many sleepless nights - I don't think this version will give me any nightmares. But, it's definitely well done and worth a watch.

American Haunting DVD Review

Well done, strong characters and great acting. Very scary, and it's based on actual events, which makes it all the more interesting. (I'm defintely going to do some reading into this "Bell Witch").

Battlestar Galactica Miniseries DVD Review

I remember all the hype when this mini series first came out. I was a fan of the original series, but remember it to be kind of cheesy, so I didn't really give it much attention, and I never watched it on TV. Recently my husband was flipping through the channels on TV, and with nothing else to watch, he started watching one of the new episodes. It caught his attention - and ended up watching the full episode (a great feat in my mind, since he tends to flip through channels like there's no tomorrow.)

So anyway, he really got interested in the show and felt it was made very well. So we figured we should start watching the new shows from the beginning. We received the mini series DVD from Netflix, watched it in one sitting - and now we're hooked! We have seasons 1, 2.0, and 2.5 at the top of our Netflix list, and are eagerly awaiting the DVDs.

American Psycho DVD Review

Thrilling and funny at the same time. Set in the 80's - it brought me back to my high school and college days. I loved the music and music references. I make my living as a graphic designer so the business card scene was my favorite. And, of course there's lots of gore, killing and sex.

RV DVD Review

Cute, and it definitely has it's funny moments. I'm a great fan of Robin Williams, and I'm also a fan of Cheryl Hines from her role in Curb Your Enthusiasm. But it almost seemed like they were trying to recreate National Lampoon's Family Vacation - of which there's really no comparison. Anyway - it is a "nice" movie that you can watch with the family, and of course, there's a nice happy ending.

Stay Alive DVD Review

I guess you probably have to be into gaming to really like (and understand) this movie. I don't play this type of computer game - but I know many who do - so I sort of enjoyed the story - I had nothing better to do the evening I watched it. Don't watch this movie if you're looking for any sort of substance, character development or good acting.

The Wire Season 1 DVD Review

Great series! With well developed characters and great story lines, it takes a no holds barred approach to the Baltimore crime scene from many angles. I love how you get to see the stories unfold from varying perspectives. Not for the timid though - there's lots of violence, profanity, drug use, and sex.

O Brother Where Art Thou DVD Review

This was very enjoyable. It takes you on a wonderful tale with three very interesting and likable characters where you never know what's going to happen next. And, the music was surprisingly enjoyable as well.

Evil Dead 2 DVD Review

Really really bad! I don't know why I tortured myself to watch this movie. I don't even know what possessed me to put this on my Netflix list. The only part of the movie that I liked was the flying eyeball.

30 Days Season 1 DVD Review

I really enjoyed watching this. I love the idea of pulling people out of their comfort zones and enabling them to see things from a totally different perspective. And, it then makes the viewer do the same.

High Tension DVD Review

Lots of gore and blood and it definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat! But - all is not what it seems, there's an interesting twist at the end. I really like the plot twist, however, when you look back the film many things seem not to make sense based on the twist. Another pet peeve - only portions of the film were dubbed, and it's been many years since my two years of high school french, so I was only able to catch a couple of words here and there. I actually turned the subtitles on, and had to replay portions of the movie to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Still, for the horror buff - it's worth seeing!
